Our original brief describes optic milling as the precision machining used to integrate a red-dot sight into a handgun slide. Done for the correct footprint and hardware, the cut creates a low, direct, and secure relationship between slide and optic.
The practical goal is faster target acquisition, clearer alignment, and more useful sighting in varied conditions. The quality of the result still depends on compatible components and machining the actual slide for the actual optic.
Fit matters more than the label on the box.
Nominally identical footprints can still vary. We require the optic to be present at the time of the cut so we can verify the unit, attachment, and match fit.
